Washington State On-Call Field Techs Needed

Archaeological and Historical Services (AHS) is a cultural resource firm affiliated with Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA and conducts work all over the Northwest U.S. AHS is compiling a pool of Archaeological Technicians that may be interested in working with our staff of archaeologists and architectural historians/historians on an as-needed basis for projects throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1) Work with AHS cultural resource staff on a project by project basis

2) Take field notes and complete field and office forms
3) Conduct survey, NRHP-evaluative testing, and data recovery of archaeological sites
4) Conduct construction monitoring for archaeological resources
5) Basic artifact identification

6) Document project/site features with gps receiver

Requirements:

·         Must have a B.A. in anthropology or archaeology

·         At least 6 months of relevant field experience

·         Must be able to carry 50 lbs over uneven terrain in various inclement weather conditions
