Ecosystem Management Inc. (EMI) is seeking archaeological supervisors and technicians for field and office work based out of our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. These are temporary, project-specific positions. Interested candidates should send a CV to info@emi-nm.com with the position they are applying for in the subject line.

Archaeological technician applicants should be New Mexico residents and should hold an undergraduate degree in archaeology/anthropology with the completion of a field school. Applicants should be able to walk at least 10 miles a day and document the sites encountered with a crew in rugged terrain in varying weather conditions. Applicants should also have experience completing electronic versions of the Laboratory of Anthropology (LA) Site Records in an office setting.

Supervisory archaeologist applicants should be New Mexico residents and should hold a degree in archaeology/anthropology, preferably a graduate degree, with the completion of a field school. Applicants should have at least one year of archaeological supervisory field experience in New Mexico. Applicants should be listed in the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) Directory of Qualified Personnel and meet the Secretary of Interior’s professional qualifications for archaeology. Applicants should be qualified for listing in EMI’s current permits, such as a New Mexico Bureau of Land Management Cultural Resource Use Permit. Applicants with experience in generating form/report-quality GIS general project location maps, project area maps, and site plans are encouraged to apply. The supervisory archaeologist should have a record of the successful completion of archaeological field investigations and final maps and/or reports.
