Archaeological Field Technician- Immediate Need

Louis Berger, a global Architecture/Engineering firm with over 6,000 employees worldwide, currently has an immediate opening for an Archaeological Field Technician for a project in Brooklyn, New York. 

Applicants should be local to the area, as there is not lodging or meal compensation with this project. There will be compensation for local commuting at maximum $30 per day (including train/bus fare) and up to maximum $17.00 for tolls/fares per day based on actual distance/amount spent.

Work is expected to begin by August 30th. Fieldwork will consist of trench excavation monitoring and shovel testing. Fieldwork is expected to last at least four (4) days.

Minimum requirements are participation in an archaeological field school and a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology or related field. Professional CRM experience on monitoring and Phase I projects is preferred but not mandatory. The successful candidates will be already living in the New York City area, have their own transportation, and will be self-motivated, physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions, and able to follow instructions from their crew chief. Candidates should be U.S. citizens, eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check; Visa sponsorship (H1B) will not be provided.
