Seeking Qualified Archaeological Technicians and Archaeological Monitors

Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc., (KEC) of Reno, Nevada, is currently accepting applications for field archaeologists for upcoming data recovery, monitoring, and pedestrian inventory projects.  Fieldwork will begin in August 2017 and is expected to continue through the field season. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.  Anticipated fieldwork will occur in multiple locations throughout Nevada.  Lodging and meal allowance are not provided for projects local to Reno.  Meal allowance ($45/day) and lodging are provided for non-local projects.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a B.S. or B.A. in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a related field, and at least one year of field experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in the Great Basin and California.  KEC is seeking professional archaeological candidates who are team-oriented, but also able to work independently and report to a Field Supervisor.  Physical requirements for the position include the ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time, lift at least 50 lbs., and hike 10+ miles per day in rough terrain and weather conditions. A clean driving record is preferred. KEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and has a zero tolerance drug policy.  Drug testing will be required.
