Summary
This position is located in the Wyoming State Office, High Desert District, Rawlins Field Office, Rawlins, Wyoming. The Rawlins Field Office area is mostly high plains with sagebrush and meadows with brilliant colors. The area also has high timbered mountains, world class big game hunting and blue ribbon trout streams. Camping opportunities are limitless and there are lakes and reservoirs for fishing and watercraft adventures to be found. There are fantastic hot springs, miles and miles of horseback riding opportunities, and a western culture unparalleled anywhere! Rawlins is a place where strangers still wave, people still look out for their neighbors, and the pronghorn outnumber the people two to one. Responsibilities
You would support Section 106 of the National Register of Historic Places compliance for the Chokecherry Sierra Madre Wind Farm project proposed by the Power Company of Wyoming. Duties would include: Daily coordination with Archaeological Consultant on progress, issues, avoidance measures, etc.; assist Consultant with fieldwork as appropriate; periodic field checking of work by Consultant; periodic onsite visits with BLM ID Team to address and resolve resource conflicts; daily coordination of GIS data with Consultant; support/assist Project Archaeologist with Native American consultation and coordination; support/assist Project Archaeologist with report and site form review (draft and final); support/assist Project Archaeologist with Section 106 consultation; make recommendations for mitigation measures for adversely affected historic properties
Communicate; and coordinate with Project Archaeologist, Supervisory Archaeologist, and Management as appropriate.
