Field Archaeologist, AZ/ID/WY/NV/OR/UT/MT - Willing to Relocate!

bones16

Hello there! My name is Chessa Emmons.

I am currently a field archaeologist for Higa Archaeological Research Office, Inc. (HARO), a DoD contractor, participating in a variety of survey and excavation projects in Okinawa, Japan. I am extremely driven, energetic, and motivated to influence your team, and I am willing to relocate to your area. I am actively searching for fieldwork opportunities to continue building my professional career upon my coming return to the United States, in March/April/May (flexible).

I possess a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a focus on physical anthropology (archaeology and osteology). Project members and instructors throughout my degree path have consistently recognized me as a morale-boosting, initiative-taking, self-starter, that which is further exemplified by my promotion to site leader within my first two months with HARO, having no prior field experience. My work with a diverse, multinational, multicultural team (collegiate and professional) has supplied me with a plethora of skills I believe are vital to the success of a cultural asset recovery unit. Prior to HARO, I served the United States Air Force as a NAF employee for six years, fulfilling up to NF-III (GS-9 equivalent) administrative duties as well as equivalent experience on field projects as a non-federal civilian leader.

The skills I have obtained over the last six years with the DoD and HARO are extremely valuable to both collaborative and independent work. Attention-to-detail, proactivity, versatility, and communication are of utmost importance when conducting cultural asset surveys and excavation, to ensure team safety, efficient utilization of funds and labor, and satisfying project parameters with limited resources. I have learned the significance of adapting to issues as they arise and pressing forward to accomplish objectives when stalled. Each of these proved detrimental to the success of the project and will continue to influence my values and ideals as a member of any team.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or require clarification on my resume, please feel free to contact me directly.
