GIS DIRECTOR

We are seeking a GIS Director, based in our Cincinnati, Ohio office. The GIS Director provides leadership for the management of all GIS capabilities; research, development, and implementation of GIS technology to support core services; and supervision, development and mentoring of GIS staff. 

 

Essential skills include:

Extensive experience with ESRI ArcGIS platforms and data management experience with principles and practices of resource sensitivity modeling, project siting, geomatics, and integration of digital field data collection; and the ability to work with project teams including archaeologists, historians, anthropologists, and planners to assist our clients.  Responsibilities also include establishment of best practices, standard operating procedures, and QA/QC procedures for GIS products. This position requires the ability to travel and participation in office business development.

Minimum qualifications:

M.A./M.S. in Geography, Anthropology, History, Environmental Studies, or related field plus 5 years’ experience in the application of GIS technology/analysis to environmental or cultural resource management projects. The person we are looking for is self-motivated, has a desire to grow personally and professionally, and takes initiative in their work. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge and practice of remote sensing and archaeological geophysical investigations is a plus.
