  • Two temporary appointments for archaeological field technicians are available for three months, with a potential for continued employment. Prior fieldwork experience in archaeology or an archaeology field school and B.A./B.S. in anthropology, archaeology or related discipline are required. • One temporary appointment for a crew chief/project director on Phase I surveys is available for six months, with a potential for continued employment. Prior experience in archaeology, including archaeological survey, and a Master’s degree in anthropology or archaeology are required. Responsibilities include background research, supervising fieldwork and field crew, laboratory analyses, and co-authoring reports. Compensation will be $18 to $21 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Lodging will be provided on all overnight projects outside of south-central Louisiana, along with per diem/meals allowance. These temporary positions otherwise require employees to provide for their own housing in Louisiana between survey projects and while working in the lab in Lafayette.
