Looking for work with GIS and architectual surveys


I am looking for opportunities to gain more experience with GIS and architectural surveys. I am based out of Columbia, South Carolina.

 Scanned archival documents, photographs, negatives, microfilm, and newspapers to tiff and jpeg images for different digital scanning projects from materials from the campuses libraries.

. Basic use of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge to process, rename, and convert images to different formats.

 Creation of metadata using the Digital Public Library of Americas guidelines using the Dublin Core schema.

 Use of Microsoft Excel to create metadata for these images.

 Uploaded finial images and metadata into the university’s digital asset repository, CONTENTdm.

 Helped to keep and maintain the structural hierarchy of the digital images and files organized on the Digital Collections project drive.

 ·       Duties included: checking a museum inventory list against the catalogue record, accession record, and the actual artifact, update changes to location and  artifact condition when needed,  accessioned and cataloged artifacts, made updates and edits the on Automated National Catalogue System (ANCS+), performed environmental readings in historical buildings, and assisting with filling out Preservation Act Compliance Forms.  Historical research involving primary and secondary resources on a person who once lived at the furnace to be used for public interpretation at the Historic Site.
