Job Description:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the review of project plans and assessment of their impact to cultural resources related to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the Seminole Tribe’s Cultural Resource Ordinance. The individual oversees and facilitates the development of the Seminole Site File and the Tribal Register of Historic Places. Master’s degree in history, anthropology, or an allied discipline with preservation background is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience and successful completion of research projects is required. Prior relevant experience in the study and handling of archaeological materials is preferred. Previous experience working with a Tribal community is preferred. Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver’s License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent research skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages including desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and database management. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
