CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE
Michael Baker International’s civil engineering
professionals manage and staff active projects in over 40 countries on five
continents. Services are provided for a broad range of projects and
capabilities, including highways, airports, bridges, rail and transit systems,
government and commercial facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, oil
and gas infrastructure, and commercial/urban development. Our fields of
expertise span all areas of civil engineering and include an extensive variety
of specialty disciplines, such as environmental compliance and restoration,
coastal engineering, urban development, and mining.
DESCRIPTION
The primary functions of the Cultural Resources Manager
opportunity are to conduct archaeological and paleontological resource
management including: preparation of proposals, technical report and
environmental document section review and preparation, client and staff
management, as well as research, monitoring, survey, testing, data
recovery.
•The majority of your day would be spent managing tasks in
an office
•You will be called upon to conduct
archaeological/paleontological fieldwork including monitoring, survey and
excavation as well as perform/analyze records searches and complete background
research.
•In addition, CEQA/NEPA/Section 106 technical report
preparation and review, and
•CEQA/NEPA environmental document cultural and tribal
cultural resources sections preparation.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•You’ll have earned a Master’s Degree in Anthropology (or
related field) and be cross trained in Paleontology. Or you’ll have earned a
Master’s Degree in Paleontology and be cross trained in Archaeology.
•On the County of San Diego list of qualified
archaeologists.
•You’ll carry 8+ years of experience in Cultural Resources
Management field archaeology/paleontology.
•Demonstrated experience and competency with crafting and
fulfilling archaeological/paleontological mitigation measures.
•Knowledge of federal and state laws that apply to
archaeology and paleontology.
•You’ll need to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and
exceptional technical writing ability.
•You should be capable of working in either an office or
field environment, as needed.
•Able to communicate through all contemporary business
mediums (i.e., email, telephone, video conferencing)
•Attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow
instructions.
•Ideal candidates will meet the Secretary of Interior
Professional Qualification Standards for archeology
•A valid California driver’s license.
•Ability to travel throughout California. Candidate will
report to Rancho Cordova but will be located in Southern California.
