NOW HIRING - Project Archaeologist at Commonwealth Heritage Group


Commonwealth Heritage Group desires to fill the position of Project Archaeologist in our Littleton office. This is a mid-level position that requires experience in conducting Phase I surveys, Phase II evaluations and Phase III data recoveries under the direction of a Project Manager. 

Applicants should have a minimum of an M.A. in anthropology/archaeology with experience in prehistoric and historic archaeology. Principal Investigators will be considered. Areas of analytical expertise are open; however, applicants must demonstrate the ability to conduct artifact analyses and write key sections of reports (methods, results, artifact analyses, etc.).

Additional responsibilities and desired expertise include:

·        Demonstrate at least two years field experience in managing in-house support staff, sub-consultants and temporary field employees, including multiple field teams

·        Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) certification

·        Knowledge of computers and GPS equipment

·        Experience working in the New England area

·        Demonstrate experience with GIS application relating to archaeological investigations

·        Experience with a Total Station

·        Familiarity with remote sensing
