Database Specialist - Phoenix, AZ

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

PaleoWest is seeking a specialist to maintain and develop proprietary databases in support of all nine PaleoWest offices across the country. Project assignments for this position will involve front and back-end database composition, including scripting and troubleshooting. This is a full-time, as-needed position with benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Independently develop databases based on state-specific requirements, create templates, and script with multiple programming languages
  • Integrate multi-user platforms
  • Implement front-end database design improvements, including layout and command tools
  • Maintain current databases to ensure functionality and purpose
  • Conduct imports, exports, and merges on demand
  • Other technical requirements as needed

Education/Experience:

At least two years of experience in computer programming is required. The candidate will understand the fundamentals of programming, design, and multi-platform integrations.  They will have experience with relational databases, scripting, importing, exporting, and merging data. The ideal candidate will have experience with FileMaker and archaeological experience, though not required.

Required Skills:

The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work both with a team and independently. The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a positive work ethic, reliability, and commitment to working in a progressive environment.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience.
