Archaeological Field Technician - Arkansas

PaleoWest Archaeology is currently seeking multiple experienced archaeological field technicians and crew chiefs for an intensive survey for several projects in Arkansas beginning the first week in September through mid-to-late November.

A bachelor's degree in Anthropology and demonstrated survey experience is required. Potential candidates should expect to excavate up to 35 shovel tests per day in rugged, hilly and brushy terrain, and maintain a strong daily work ethic. Experience with handheld Trimble GPS units is essential. The pay rate is based on individual qualifications and experience. Overtime will be paid as accrued. Per diem is reimbursed at $35 per day per overnight stay. A typical work week is 4-5 ten hour days followed by 1-2 days off. Lodging is provided typically in single occupancy rooms. Per diem and lodging are provided on off days. This a non-smoking project per client requirements no exceptions (including rest breaks). The project will be supervised from our Austin, Texas office.
