Archaeological Field Technicians - Southeastern U.S.

Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (Panamerican) has immediate openings for qualified Archaeological Field Technicians for multiple projects based out of our Memphis, Tennessee office.

 

A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field, is required, as well as demonstrated experience in archaeological survey. Experience in Phase II testing, and excavation, while not required, is a plus. The applicant should have the ability to compile detailed field notes and operate a hand held GPS for navigation and mapping.

 

This position requires the ability to work in difficult or remote environments, in varying weather conditions, and the ability to work with groups composed of diverse personalities. A positive attitude and ability to accept direction is a must, as well as the ability to work independently.

 

The majority of our projects are outside the Memphis, TN area. Panamerican provides lodging and per diem on these out of town projects. Travel is provided from the Memphis office. If not traveling from Memphis, you are responsible for your own travel to the project location. The hourly rate of pay is the prevailing SCA Wage Determination rate on all projects.

 

This is a temporary position, but due to our current workload, we should be able keep technicians continuously assigned to projects.
