Deschutes National Forest - Archaeological Technician Positions (GS-5, GS-7)

The Deschutes National Forest, located in beautiful Central Oregon, will be hiring multiple seasonal archaeological field technician positions for the 2019 field season. The application period opens on www.usajobs.gov September 17, 2018 and closes October 12, 2018 for positions starting in May 2019. Positions are available at the GS-07 level on the Bend-Fort Rock and Crescent Districts and at the GS-05 level on the Bend-Fort Rock, Crescent, and Sisters Ranger Districts.

These are temporary seasonal positions with a maximum six-month tour schedule (Not To Exceed 1039 hours). Positions are full-time (40 hours/week) and most crews work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday. The anticipated start date is in May with a flexible end date that depends, in part, on candidate availability. Most tours go through September and may extend into October.

Government housing may be available.
