Archeological Field Technicians - Statewide TX and SE US

Moore Archeological Consulting, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for upcoming projects across the state of Texas and southeastern U.S. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to serve as contract Field Technicians for field investigations. These projects include construction monitoring, shovel testing and unit excavations in urban and rural settings.

Minimum Requirements for Field Technicians:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology (or closely related field)
  • Completion of an accredited field school
  •  A valid driver’s license
  •  Basic knowledge of field survey and excavation techniques, including GPS equipment
  •  Ability to work in adverse conditions while lifting and carrying equipment (45+ pounds)

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their ability to work in a team, knowledge of field data recording and artifact identification, and strong work ethic. All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment physical, which includes drug screening, prior to employment. Per diem and single occupancy hotel rooms will be provided. Pay will be based on applicant’s experience and/or education.
