Environmental Field Tech (Archaeologist) - Project Work for 2019

BGE, Inc is hiring Environmental Field Technicians (Archaeologists), on a project basis,  for upcoming 2019 projects! These projects lie within the land development, transportation, public works, and midstream engineering sectors. Phase I and II survey, Historic Resources surveys, geoarchaeological trenching, and construction monitoring.

  • Undergraduate in Anthropology or closely related field required. Field school preferred.
  • Experience with cultural resource management projects in Texas, Louisiana, and/or Oklahoma preferred.
  • Single occupancy hotel rooms, paid for, you keep the hotel rewards. IRS rate mileage for personal vehicles when travelling. Travel hours paid standard hourly rate & included in OT calculations. Per Diem $50/day, including travel.
  • To execute the goals of the project based on the research design and applicable standards of investigation, safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with conducting fieldwork according to LDA/CTA guidelines/standards including survey and site recording. These guidelines/standards are easily found online using Google search.
  • Attention to safety considerations and participating in daily safety meetings. Professional interpersonal communication, and problem solving. Professional, detailed field paperwork: shovel test forms, field maps, photo logs, maps etc.
  • Data collection using Trimble handheld units, tablet units, as well as map and compass.
  • Communicating any issue (safety, injury, heat stress, etc.) to crew chief to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Follow direction of Crew Chief or field director in support of the research design and project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
