TRC, a national environmental services company, is soliciting applications to fill a permanent full-time benefited position for a qualified and highly motivated Senior Field Supervisor/Project Manager in our Laramie, Wyoming office, for work to be conducted in the Intermountain West region.

The Senior Field Supervisor/Project Manager will work closely with other TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing (PPL) practice. We are looking for an individual enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges.

Requirements
  • Applicants must have an M.A. degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline

  • 3 to 5 years of post-M.A. experience in supervising archaeological field projects

  • Meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards (36 CFR Part 61) in archaeology.

  • Candidate must have a strong background in archaeological survey, evaluative testing, and mitigation.

  • Qualified applicants should exhibit leadership qualities and be able to oversee archaeological field crews

  • Make good tactical decisions in the field

  • Ensure the quality of data, fieldwork, and paperwork; manage and organize information and tasks effectively

  • Perform background research; write technical reports meeting the requirements of state and federal agencies

  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion

  • Coordinate with project personnel and clients regarding project requirements and expectations

  • Must be able to conduct fieldwork in adverse conditions and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment. Some Intermountain West experience is mandatory, with Wyoming experience preferred

  • Technical writing experience is required and will be strongly evaluated

  • Some experience or familiarity with the Section 106 process and state/federal historic preservation laws is required

  • Applicants must be willing to travel and be away from Laramie for 3-10 days at a time, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually

  • This position will involve field work and technical writing, so applicants should be prepared to submit writing samples upon request (preferably samples of cultural resource management documentation and/or academic publications demonstrating strong writing skills and the ability to conduct research)

  • Past state and federal agency crew chief permitting in the region is also preferred
