Overview

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for a Wetland Scientist (preferably with the PWS credentials from the Society of Wetland Scientist) and shares in the passion in delivering the highest quality project work.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Completing wetland resource area delineations and functional assessments.
  • Preparing wetland permits in accordance with State, Local, and Federal guidelines.
  • Preparing reports and proposals.
  • Managing project budgets and coordinating project work.
  • Working well in both field and office environments.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Wetland Science, Biology, Plant/Soil Science, Ecology or other related environmental science, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working with Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations.
  • Certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist by the Society of Wetland Scientists preferred.
  • Registration as a wetland scientist by the State of New Hampshire, and/or qualifications of a soil scientist in the State of Connecticut preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project permitting, impact assessments, proposal preparation, environmental planning and wetland delineation/mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience with local, state and federal wetland permitting programs (CT, MA, NH, RI, VT, and ME).
  • Demonstrated successful client relationships and experience working with subcontractors and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality written reports and verbal presentations at hearings.
  • Skills in MS Office and GPS data collection,
  • Ability to travel to other SWCA offices occasionally.
