Archaeological Technians - El Paso, Texas - Projects Starting Soon


QRI is accepting applications for at least six archaeological technicians for multiple surveys on Fort Bliss in the El Paso, Texas area. There is a possibility of additional work elsewhere in the Southwest.


  • Maintain accurate, organized, and legible field notes,
  • Collecting field data using Trimble GPS units, data dictionaries, and recording site attributes using pull down menus,
  • Candidate must be physically capable of conducting survey in all weather and all environments, from very cold to very hot,


  • B.A. in Anthropology with appropriate experience performing archaeological survey and excavation within the southwestern United States.
  • Pass a security clearance background check,
  • Familiarity with the TRU survey and recording method is a plus.

Successful candidate will be required to reside in El Paso or in the adjacent communities; per diem is not offered for this position. The position is hourly and project specific. A typical work week is four 10-hour days; however, we work around the Army training schedule so the workdays may be flexible when needed. The project durations are expected to be one to three months. The pay rate will be $17-19 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
