GIS Analyst/Technician with Archeological Background - Austin, Texas

Location: Austin, Texas

Perennial Environmental Services (Perennial) is actively seeking a highly motivated person to fill a GIS Technician/Analyst position in their Austin, Texas office. The individual should have  experience using ArcGIS for data compilation, standardization, and data management. Additionally, experience with geographic data mapping, spatial analysis, and cartographic product creation is required.  The candidate would work primarily with archeological datasets, produce maps for archeological technical reports, and manage data from field teams.  

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in one or more of the following disciplines: geography, GIS, environmental sciences, information technology, or other related disciplines.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, IS/IT, or related field

Minimum 2 years of work within the ESRI products suite, and other GIS software such as QGIS and Google Earth.

Be able to develop and maintain spatial databases, including MS Access and File Geodatabases (GDB),

Work with the Trimble products, including handheld GPS units, Terraflex, and Pathfinder Office

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Excel.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python is a plus
Excellent knowledge of statistical software & data visualization software such as R is a plus
