JOB SUMMARY:
Graham & Associates is seeking to hire an Architectural Historian in the Columbus, GA area.  This position is a full time position and will provide support to the Fort Benning Cultural Resource Management Program (CRMP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The contractor will coordinate and obtain necessary safety training and adhere to all safety regulations and guidance as provided through Fort Benning, Range Division. 
Support public outreach and education to sustain installation cultural resources stewardship efforts.
Research operational activities requiring coordination with multiple functional organizations within tribal communities as well as other civilian and federal agencies.
Review FB144r to identify Army actions affecting historic properties as provided through the NEPA (FB144r) process.
Will be responsible for maintaining Cultural Resource Management (CRM) data bases.  Record potential effects within the FB144r system or other databases that includes results of Cultural Resource Management Program reviews and guidance per Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan (ICRMP).
Provide accurate data and documents for CRM guidance on meeting legal and regulatory requirements and supporting consultation with SHPO’s, Federally recognized Tribes, Master Planning and Real Property.
Provide a weekly report to the Contract Officer Representative (COR) summarizing activities of the historic properties project review.  The report will include letters, memos, and phone calls relating to all work activities. 
Maintain compliance with applicable laws and statutes.
Review of project or other Army actions for their effects on cultural (Archeological) sites, historic buildings, National Historic Landmarks and Historic Districts.
Support and consult the Georgia State Historic Preservation Officer and Alabama State Historic Preservation Officer under the Historic Properties Component of the Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan as the Army Alternate Procedures for compliance with Section 106 of NHPA.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, History or related field required.  Graduate Degree or
                        Master’s Degree in American Architectural History or related field preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 
2+ years of professional experience documenting and researching architectural conservation and restoration projects to completion.
2 or more years’ experience employed in cultural resource management, required.
Knowledge of the Secretary of Interior Standards on the treatment of historic properties and their application.
Strong technical, organizational and coordination skills.
Must be able to effectively interact with Customer, vendors, the public, and other team members on the telephone and in person.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 
Experience working on Army or other military installations.
Experience working with Spanish Colonial Revival, Georgian, and Mid-Century Modern architectural styles.
Experience in other aspects of the cultural resource management field, such as archaeology.
Experience in the cultural resource management profession to include conducting historic building surveys, HABS/HAER documentation, and the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106/Section 110 processes.
EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Access
Proficient in Geographic Information Systems
Knowledge of various microcomputer equipment with the ability to input, retrieve, and understand messages
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates primarily in a professional office / field environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
