On-Call Archaeologists Needed - Utah

Trileaf Corporation seeks experienced on-call archaeologists to conduct Phase I surveys for telecommunication projects in Salt Lake City, Utah and surrounding areas on a project-by-project basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ·         Meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for Archaeology (MS/MA required) 
    • Applicants without a MS/MA will not be considered
  • ·         Previous telecom experience
  • ·         Provide their own equipment (including a ¼-inch screen and Munsell)
  • ·         Ability to work independently
  • ·         Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • ·         Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ·         Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • ·         Ability to follow detailed instructions and unafraid to ask questions
  • ·         Demonstrated ability to carry work to completion
  • ·         Desire to preform quality, ethical archaeology
  • ·         Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • ·         Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • ·         Creative problem-solving skills
  • ·         Demonstrated leadership ability
  • ·         Adaptability, flexibility, and positivity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ·         Previous field experience in the Great Basin
  • ·         2 years of relevant work experience
  • ·         Applied knowledge of Section 106 of the NHPA

Responsibilities:

  • ·         Perform unsupervised Phase I fieldwork within 5-7 days of being assigned a project
  • ·         Work with remote staff regarding project work, scheduling, and data exchange
  • ·         Take clear and detailed field notes and photographs
