SOI Cultural Resources Monitor- Washington State

Archaeological and Historical Services (AHS) is a cultural resource firm affiliated with Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA and conducts work all over the Northwest U.S. Currently, we are accepting applications for 1-2 archaeological technicians for a long term monitoring project in central Washington that will begin mid-April.  One position will be for approximately 38 weeks in duration and the other one will be for 19 weeks.  A typical week will be 5 10-hour days. The hourly rate for this position will be $17-$20/hour (depending on experience) and is eligible for overtime pay.  Food per diem and lodging cost reimbursements (no travel advances) will be provided to individuals working more than 50 miles from their home (based on current GSA rates). 

The successful candidate must:

  •  meet Secretary of the Interior's Professional Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology (36 CFR 61)
  •  have at least 1 year of relevant field experience
  • demonstrated ability to identify cultural materials in the field and document them with a gps unit
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills and is expected to take daily notes
  • must be able to commit to either the 38 week or the 19 week position and work in inclement weather conditions
  • must be able to carry 50 lbs over uneven terrain
