ECOplN701

EcoPlan, a natural and cultural resources consulting firm, is hiring a full time archaeologist in our Mesa, Arizona office. A graduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field is required along with demonstrated proficiency in archaeological spatial analysis using GIS (an ESRI Arc GIS certificate is preferable). The candidate must be permittable as a project director or crew chief in Arizona and ideally in Utah, too (Great Basin area experience is also a plus). Therefore, experience in the archaeology of the Southwest is mandatory. A familiarity with the permitting procedures of various Arizona State and Federal agencies is a plus. Frequent overnight travel is a requirement of the job. All applicants must be able to walk up to 12 miles per day in difficult terrain and extreme weather carrying a 25-pound pack. Some surveys will require overnight camping in remote locations. The successful candidate should have professional writing skills and a demonstrated ability to carry research projects to completion.

EcoPlan especially values a commitment to effective communication, teamwork, and quality in all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including mapping, note taking, and digital photography.

EcoPlan offers a competitive salary (commensurate with experience) and full-time positions include vacation, medical, and retirement benefits.

The successful candidate will begin work on or about April 2020.

Applicants may email a cover letter and resume, including the names and contact information of three professional references, to ecoplan@ecoplanaz.com for consideration.
