Project Director (Arizona)

EcoPlan Associates, Inc. (EcoPlan) is looking hire a full time Project Director in our Mesa, Arizona office (applications for our Tucson office will also be considered). A graduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field is preferred. The candidate must be permittable in Arizona and ideally in Utah, too (Great Basin area experience is also a plus). Therefore, experience in the archaeology of the Southwest is mandatory. A familiarity with the permitting procedures of various Arizona State and Federal agencies is a plus. Frequent overnight travel is a requirement of the job. All applicants must be able to walk up to 12 miles per day in difficult terrain and extreme weather carrying a 25-pound pack. Surveys will frequently require overnight camping in remote locations. The successful candidate should have professional writing skills and a demonstrated ability to carry research projects to completion. Proficiency with GIS is also preferred, especially with regard to spatial analysis. We especially values a commitment to effective communication, teamwork, and quality in all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including mapping, note taking, and digital photography.
