Archaeological Field Technicians for Survey on the Navajo Nation, Arizona


EcoPlan, a natural and cultural resources consulting firm with headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, is accepting applications for qualified archaeological field technicians for an upcoming, large survey located on the Navajo Nation. The survey is expected to be conducted in four 8-day field sessions with 6 days off between sessions.
The ideal applicant will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in anthropology and a minimum of six months of experience in archaeological survey, prehistoric and historic-period site documentation, use of handheld GPS units for site mapping, and site form preparation.
All applicants must be able to walk up to 12 miles per day in difficult terrain and extreme weather carrying a 20-pound pack. EcoPlan especially values a commitment to effective communication, teamwork, and quality in all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including mapping, note taking, and digital photography.
Hourly wage ($16-$20) will vary depending on experience and education; lodging and per diem will be paid. Please submit resumes, at least three professional references, and availability to for consideration.
