I suppose it depends upon what your particular interests are, and what depth you are looking to get into. It could probably range from a mass market publication like Archaeology to the more specialized (and costly) journals. Sometimes it is possible to obtain publications through interlibrary loan if you don't mind waiting, and want to check some of them out before you commit to a subscription. If you have a university close to you with an anthro program, you may also be able to browse through some of the journals that they may have in their collection. Some of the university libraries are friendlier to the general public than others, but it's worth giving it a shot.
