Summer 2010 in the Southeast?

Massey914

I'm dedicating my entire summer to accruing experience and building my resume. I already have two field schools worked out for the summer, but I'm also looking for some volunteer opportunities. I live in Oklahoma, right on the border of Texas, and I'm willing to travel. I'm looking for something that is 1-4 weeks.

I would recommend checking out the USFS Passport in Time volunteer program. It looks like most of the projects listed on their website now are for the spring, but if you check back in a bit, you should find more offerings for the summer. I've volunteered on two PIT projects over the years and had a wonderful experience. I can't recommend the program enough.

Hope this helps. Good luck,

What program looks best when trying to get a job after college as far as volunteering goes? And if I'm trying to get a job overseas, will it be more likely if I already have experience volunteering overseas?
