National Society of Collegiate Scholars and received the Outstanding
Undergraduate in Anthropology award. I took all of the required introductory and advanced
Anthropology courses as well as Landscape Archaeology, GIS/Remote Sensing I
and II, and Food and Culture with a focus on Fijian lifeways. I presented my
senior research at the Alabama Academy of Sciences conference in March
2008.
Skills
Through my field and laboratory experience I have gained
knowledge of field survey, excavation, mapping, and recording. I have
experience mapping sites and features using GPS, and I have used a Total
Station as well as a surveying level.
My lab experience taught me organization and also the need for detail
when recording and analyzing artifacts/material remains. There have been many instances in
which I have worked as a member of a team, and as a result my communication
and adaptability skills have really grown. In a team I think the greatest assets are being flexible, a
good listener, and reliable.
