Yes, archaeology is linked to anthropology - it is a subset of the overall field of study. Thus, at the B.A. level of study you will major in anthropology, with perhaps an emphasis in archaeology, should you choose that route.

As for schools, you can research those through the American Anthropology Association's guide to universities at your local college/university, or maybe at your local public library. If you are interested in prehistoric archaeology, Sacramento State has a pretty good program. If you are interested in CRM look into Sonoma State and Cabrillo College. I know a few people who have come out of UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley as well.

Ultimately, if you are really serious about this then going to these schools and talking with professors and students there will give you the best insight into their particular programs.

you might also look up the webpage for the colleges you are thinking about. A lot of schools have a Anthropology department webpage and will often list short bios of the professors and the types of work they are doing. One thing to pay attention to is how many professors are doing archeology. If they have one archeology professor and the rest are anthropology or sociology it may not be the best school for pursuing a specialty in archeology.
