Does anyone know of or know how to find any field schools during the winter session time? I need to have a certain amount of field school experience but all the field schools are during the summer and I have to use the summer sessions to do my thesis research. I know why the northern states dont do winter digs but the southern states are still at a workable climate.

Sorry I can't be more specific but try looking at the webpages of smaller private colleges. Because tuition is so high, many tend to offer their field schools as regular classes during the Fall & Spring semesters. At least this was the case 15 or so years ago :-)

Also check on sites like http://www.archaeological.org I know there is a couple others but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Anyway, look for field work opportunities in places like the Carribbean, sometimes there will be one running in January, or there'll be a volunteer opportunity for you to get college credit on.
