James Madison’s Montpelier located in Orange County Va.  Dr. Clarence Geier and Matthew Reeves, Co-directors. Front yard area was excavated in search of post holes from an early fence line. 
 
    
RECENT EMPLOYMENT
James Madison University                                                Feb 17th2009- June 20th 2010
    Crew Chief of Phase I and II excavation of Cedar Creek Battle Field Area located at Belle Grove; Middletown, Va and Ramseur’s Tract located in Fishers Hill, Va.  Site includes Civil War encampments, battle lines and earthworks, farmsteads and early woodland sites. Trained undergraduate students in Phase I and II techniques, completed lab work, participated in metal detecting surveying and helped with daily reports.  Experience with topographic maps and total station work.  
URS                                                                                     Nov 30th 2008 -Feb 10th 2009
    Phase I excavation of Fayetteville Pipeline Express located in Searcy, AR, Oxford, MS and surrounding areas. (Project #22240692) Participated in shovel test pit excavation and pedestrian surveys.  Collected and identified prehistoric and historic artifacts and sites. 
URS                                                                                       Sept 30th-Nov 21st 2008
Phase III excavation of Late Archaic/Late Paleo-Indian site located in Somerset, OH. (Project #33Pe807) Participated in excavating 5x5 meter blocks down to sterile subsoil. Photographed, mapped, and helped with backhoe backfill and digging. Excavated features within the units when necessary. Also performed total station work.

Cedar Creek Battle Field Area located at Belle Grove; Middletown, Va.  .  Participated in pedestrian surveys, Phase I test pitting, total station work, metal detecting and mapping of structures and earth works.  Investigated area for evidence of Civil War and Native American sites.
 The Frontier Culture Museum; Staunton, Va. Participated in visual reconnaissance surveys and Phase I shovel test pits. Investigated area for evidence of Native American and Civil War sites.

Civil War battlefields of Fisher’s Hill, Toms Brook, New Market and Cedar Creek located in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Participated in Phase I shovel test pit and visual reconnaissance surveys. Identified and documented military sites, farmsteads, support structures, roads and Native American sites.
