Due to an onslaught of spammers trying to register at this
website, we've had to implement a manual approval process of all new website
accounts. Please answer the following questions and submit your information via e-mail
to apply for a website membership. All questions except those marked OPTIONAL must
be completed.
1. Desired username (or website
"handle")
2. Desired password
3. Your real name (will not be displayed publically unless you choose to later add it to
your profile)
4. E-mail address (will not be displayed publically unless you choose to later add it to
your profile)
5. Your geographic location, i.e. New York, NY
6. Your occupation
7. Area(s) of archaeology or history in which you have an interest
8. (OPTIONAL) Your website or web page (if you have one, and wish to link to it in your
profile)
9. (OPTIONAL) A link to the URL of an image you would like to use for your avatar photo
10. (OPTIONAL) How did you hear about this website?
Please note that the following fields will be displayed publically in your profile:
username, geographic location, occupation, areas of interest, and web page. If you
desire to make any of this info private, please indicate this in your e-mail.
Alternately, you can log in with your username and password once your account is
validated and change your profile at any time. Your real name and e-mail address
will not be made public unless you choose to at a later time.
NOTE: It is quite possible that you might have had an account previously at
archaeologyfieldwork.com and have had trouble logging in with your username and password.
Several months ago, we migrated to a new forum software which was incompatible with
the old database. Unfortunately the login information for over 13,000 website
visitors was lost when this occured.
In most cases, new website accounts will be approved within 24 hours. A confirmation e-mail indicating your account approval will be sent to the e-mail address provided. Please contact me with any questions or issues regarding the above application process. Thanks, and welcome to archaeologyfieldwork.com. Jennifer Palmer, webmaster
